The 5 things I miss most besides people :)
1. Wine - It is impossible to buy wine in Indonesia. The only place you can get it is in posh restaurants where foreigners go and they charge an arm and a leg for a cheap bottle of wine. I'm talking a week of my measly earnings here for a bottle of the nice stuff. They are actually charging double the price of what it would be at home. Talking 20Euro for 10euro bottle of wine. It's the only thing in Indonesia that is expensive. Spend 1Euro on food but twenty times that on the drink.... tear tear - I need wine.... If anyone is coming to visit please please bring me wine :) Will anyone visit me??? Please do... Think it's a tropical paradise....
2. Shopping in peace - Everytime you enter a shop in Indonesia someone follows you around and tells you everything about the things in the shop, and they stand there and stare at you until you leave - so I never buy anything. The other day I was shopping for underwear in a department store and the ladies went into histerics laughing because they thought my boobs were big... and the bra I liked wasn't available in my size.... My boobs aren't that bloody big....
3. Walking along a street without some shouting at me - Sometimes I want to be invisible.
4. Cheap Dairy products, brown bread, food not dripping in oil....
5. Mosquito free Ireland.
